Classical Yoga

Classical Yoga is an integrated system of postures, breathing exercises, relaxation and meditation aimed at revitalising and rejuvenating the body, improving flexibility and circulation, boosting the lymphatic system and helping one become calm, centred and focused. Classical yoga has been found to benefit people with chronic diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, arthritis, back problems, and people with depression have reported a significant shift in their mood.

The yoga classes are kept small (no more than 6 students per class) which helps me to establish a personal rapport with each student and give all students the attention they deserve. To gain the maximum benefit from any exercise class, including yoga, you need to enjoy the classes. The classes are informal and fun, and I discourage any form of competition with fellow yoga students. Newcomers to my classes are encouraged to listen to their bodies and not force the body into anything – after all, you have to live with your body and the purpose is not to turn you into a circus performer, but rather make you stronger and more flexible, and supple in body, mind and spirit.

Classes are held in Victory Park, Johannesburg (close to Linden).

Classical yoga will provide you with practical methods of stress control and teach you relaxation methods that will result in immediate and long-term effects, and enable you to embrace each new day with confidence and energy.
